Shelby Energy participated in the “Touch A Truck” event at Clear Creek Park in Shelbyvilleon June 16th. This event called for several businesses and other organizations to bring their trucks out to the park, and allow children of all ages to come and experience the vehicles inside and out. Many daycaresand preschools in Shelby County brought their students out to learn about the trucks and the jobs that require their use.
Shelby Energy sent a few of our employees out to talk with the children about a line technician’s job and how to be safe around electricity. Line technicians Rick Shaw, Gary Warford, and Mike Mason, as well as Manager of Engineering, Paul Shovlin, were all there to represent Shelby Energy. The event was a success with several children and their teachers or families there to show them around. Being a part of this fun event gave us the opportunity to connect with the children in our community, and we look forward to being a part of it again next year.
